Il presente lavoro di ricerca mira ad approfondire e arricchire, mediante nuove acquisizioni, lo studio in merito alle opere pittoriche di committenza gesuitica custodite presso le fondazioni palermitane dell’Ordine: chiesa del Gesù a Casa Professa, Collegio Massimo dei Gesuiti, chiesa di San Stanislao Kostka e chiesa di San Francesco Saverio. A queste si aggiungono i dipinti di committenza della Compagnia trasferiti presso altre sedi. The rationality of rainy day savers: objective and subjective determinants of individual savings in Britain

Using the largest and richest data on savings in Great Britain, six waves of the Wealth and Assets Survey from the Office for National Statistics, we compare standard life cycle models of saving with models using more 'subjective' measures, and the added dimension of longitudinal data. Whilst the life cycle model provides a benchmark, regular criticisms remain, particularly people's propensity to continue saving at older ages. Data on attitudes attenuate that issue, and panel data largely eliminate it. Backing out of private pension provision - Lessons from Germany

Financing pensions in the EU is a challenge. Many EU countries introduced private pension schemes to compensate declining public pension levels due to reforms made necessary by demographic change. In 2001, Germany introduced the Riester pension. Ten years after introduction the prevalence rate of this voluntary private pension scheme approximates 37 %. However, numerous criticisms raise doubts that the market for Riester products is transparent. Using the 2010 German SAVE survey, this article investigates terminated and dormant Riester contracts on a household level for the first time. Muratorian urban morphology: the walled city of Ahmedabad

This paper investigates the complexity of the urban fabric, from the urban scale to the building and neighbourhood scale, by using the concepts and tools of urban morphology according to the Muratorian School. Specifically, basic concepts such as ‘urban polarities’, ‘routes hierarchical system’ and ‘building neighbourhood’ are used. They are deployed in the walled city of Ahmedabad, India, which has a rich architectural heritage clearly recognizable in Indo-Islamic monuments and particularly in aggregative structures called pols.
Rules and Mechanisms of Perceptual Interaction of Odor Mixtures : Application to Icewine aroma

Icewine was used as an experimental object, and hundreds of wine- or food-related odor mixtures were designed and investigated for the first time based on the identification and analysis of icewine’ odorants. The aim of the thesis work was to explore the key odor elements that affected the perception of odor mixtures and the general laws behind olfactory perceptual interactions.
